Title:
INFCIRC/908 Regional Workshop for French-Speaking Africa: Addressing the Nexus of Artificial Intelligence and Insider Threat Mitigation
Goal:
To conduct the first regional workshop under the Advancing INFCIRC/908 International Working Group’s “Impact from Technology” theme, specifically addressing the nexus of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Insider Threat Mitigation for French-speaking African countries. The three-day workshop aimed to explore how AI technologies can enhance insider threat mitigation while identifying associated risks and developing regional good practices for implementation.
Outcome:
Key outcomes include interest from three countries (Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Madagascar) in subscribing to INFCIRC/908, concrete commitments for knowledge transfer and capacity building, and establishment of a foundation for ongoing regional cooperation. The workshop generated significant momentum for continued African regional activities on AI and insider threat mitigation.
